Maxtrax? Has anyone used these?

Was watching a youtube video of a car on the beach which turned out to be an advertisement for these.

Just curious if anyone has seen or used these? :)

LOL. Good one.

I think it will be useful for someone who does a lot of time on sand and maybe useful also in deep snow conditions.

These would be good for those that refuse to air down on soft terrane.

Looks like a great example of Aussie ingenuity :).

Any 4X4 can can bogged in soft sand, these or anything similar are invaluable tools.

that's what i was thinking, even if you air down I guess it's still possible to get stuck in the sand. In the videos these seemed to work great!
Guessing they would be good for a vehicle that doesn't have any tow hooks also. If you can use these to get yourself out instead of having to be pulled out.

I've seen them in use and they are very effective.

There's also another brand out now, TRED ... http://www.4wd1.com/TRED-Recovery-Ramp.htm

A bit cheaper than Maxtrax.

I like that... added peace of mind when trekking in places where a tow is not easily available.

You bet! They work like a dream. Ideal for loners like me.
See the pic. A couple of Eastern Beach Crocs (Crocodylus maxtraxus)
