Oil Dip Stick Reading

I own a 2011 Grand Cherokee Limited W/ The Hemi. I change my oun oil and use fully synthetic 5w20, 7 quarts. After changing and allowing the motor to run for awhile, then let the motor set for a minute. I check the oil level and every time the stick reads at the fill line. What gives, it still looks like the oil level is low?

I have always had to refill with 7.5 quarts to get the dipstick to read in the hatched zone above the add line.

My change took 7.5 qts, but now it shows a slight overfill, so next time 7 1/4 qts.

I have a 2012, 5.7...it takes about 7.5 to make it read full. When I posted about this I was criticized for not following the owners manual.
