Ok guys so here's what I ended up with. After striking out trying to find a Limited with the color and options I was looking for I started looking at the Laredo X's. As most of you know they are very similar minus the headlights, heated back seats and 730 media center option. Options and pricing breakdown below.
4x4 5.7 V8
Laredo E Group
Off-Road Adventure Pack 1
Command View Dual-Pane Sunroof
Media Center 430 SAT/NAV
Selling price $36,415
Plus 3 oil changes and a tank of gas
This salesmen has been the easiest to work with and has had the lowest offer so far. So I'm looking at $5340 off MSRP and $2781 off of invoice. He has applied all qualifying discounts and Employee pricing plus gave me the hold back. I told him I'd like to see the window tint or a tow package installed which I may still do when I go sign for it this weekend. I put a $100 down to hold the vehicle to show that I'm serious and ready to purchase. I'd like to think he's at his bottom at this point and I'm happy with the price but I'm also like all of you and want the best deal. I like the sales guy and feel like he would actually be easy to deal with if I have issues down the line. I'm happy with it being a 4x4 and of course the HEMI as well.
I'd like to get everyone's advice on the deal and if you think I can get additional upgrades. I was wondering about the brochure discount for 500 but I can't find anything on it. I signed up for the brochure but again no mention of the discount.
Also would it be worth ordering a 2013 for around the same price if possible?
Re: Good Deal?
We as consumers should "network" with others in our areas so when we're ready to purchase a new Jeep we can go into a dealership with a few other serious buyers so we can easily negotiate the best deal.
There's many sites out there that give us the knowledge to know what we should be paying for a vehicle (invoice minus B.S.) but I'd think if a few people went into a dealership together we could get a smokin' deal especially if that dealership is close to getting their monthly qualifying sale from the manufacturer.
Could we start some sort of sign up thread for different states so we can find others who may be ready to buy at the same time?
Re: Good Deal?
The deal sounds about right and on par with the loaded X package I priced out. You mentioned the hand raiser discount already, that's really the biggest tip. At present the same discounts don't exist for the 2013's so I find it unlikely they could meet the price of the 2012 unless matching rebates are announced. I was able to get a $1000 discount for leasing a competing vehicle, don't hear many people talk about it ... not sure if its unique to my area. Are you using their financing? Consider PenfEd at 1.49% if not. IMO , if you are interested in one of the extended warranties, like the lifetime max care, try to work the price of that into the up front negotiations instead of during closing w/ the finance manager. Another cheap item to ask for is front window tint.
