How did you choose your Forum User Name

A bit of light hearted fun, but there are some curious member's names on our forum, just wondered if you could share how you made up your user name. Mine's plain old boring (GlennR) and I just selected the sign on ID I use at work. It must have been one of my "lacks creativity" days. Care to share how you made up yours?

Surname starts with Stud...
A mate introduced me to girls at parties as "the Studgun", and so it began.

Re: How did you choose your Forum User Name

I have used this username for over 10 years. I am a refrig mechanic by trade and the very first forum I was ever involved with was a refrigeration engineering forum so my name has to do with that trade. I use it on any forums I frequent.

A 750 Valve is an adjustable valve on an instantaneous beverage cooler (a temprite) that basically determines the temperature of the beer that comes out of it. Temprites used to be widely used in Australia for the last 20 to 30 years but now they are few and far between.

I like the industry I work in and I like beer :chug:

It is my nickname, more related to the way I act, at work and on the road. I am known as a few different names on other forums, but decided to standardise on this one.

When I was in the Rhodesian Army in the late 70s, one our sister units was the Selous Scouts, named after Frederick Courtney Selous, a legendary big game Hunter and tracker who was the inspiration for one of the main characters in Wilbur Smith's novels. My unit worked with the Selous scouts on a number of external operations, seriously elite soldiers who were ranked above the SAS in the Rhodesian special forces. I've used Selous as a nick for years because it was unlikely to have been taken, and reminds me of that period in my life.

Well my old SN was Elvis and I decided hey why not change it? No reasoning why I changed it but I changed it to Robert Palmer, my second favorite music artist of all time.

Rock n' Rolls Sophisticate.
