Remove driver side door
I was just wondering if anyone knows of a how to on removing the driver side door on a grand Cherokee
My car got t-boned in a parking lot recently and I'm trying to get a cheap fix so it looks like I'm off to the junkyards.
If anyone could help me out with a tutorial or even a helping hand I'd really appreciate it. I live in Santa Monica
Re: Remove driver side door
Each hinge has two bolts that screw into the chassis. Just unbolt them.
Be prepared for the weight though. The best thing to do is set up wood blocks next to the truck that the door exactly rests on while it is fully open. Use the same block set to put the new door on, as that will get you close to proper fitment. Exact fit will have to be by trial and error, but the blocks along with wood shims will help speed the process.
Anther thing, tape the edges of the door and adjacent panels to avoid the inevitable paint damage.
