First Jeeping trip in my WK2

Took my Jeep on some easy to moderate trails nearby (70 miles from where I live) this past weekend. I am happy to say that the Jeep performed great and exceeded my expectations. I had to use 4-Lo in some sections (I made some wrong turns on the trails) where it was a very rocky.

My Jeep is stock except for the wheels and 32" tires (Dueler AT) from a 2012 JKU. There were some very steep sections with ton of rocks and I used the 4-Lo (plus Hill Descent Control when coming down). The Jeep did these sections really really well.

Here are few pictures.

This is what happens if you do not pay attention.

So, was the wreck already there or did it come with you?

The wreck was already there. Looks like someone had a bad day. :(
The trails were kinda narrow and tilted towards the slope in some areas. I can see how one can roll over if they went too fast in those sections.

That wreck kinda scared the wife.... since our 20 month old was also in the Jeep.

Great pics. How about a close up pic (side profile) of your wk2? Your wheel/ tire size looks proportionally perfect for a wk2. 17 or 18" rims (can't rememeber what's on Wranglers these days)?

The wheels are 18". They fill the wheel wells perfectly well and I really like the way they look. They have more side wall compared to the stock latitudes as well.

Awesome Aiyer - where was this?

I live in Denver and just picked up my Altitude last night. Definitely want to eventually get on to some trails like this. Any "easy" ones you can suggest in the Front Range area?

MikeD, Turbospartan,

These were on the Argentine Pass and McClellan Ridge Road near Georgetown. They are pretty easy trails.
Traildamage lists a bunch of trails. You can sort them by levels of difficulty.

For the long weekend, I am doing some Jeeping in Ouray and Telluride areas. Skid plates are being delivered today... so I should be set for that trip.

Let me know if you guys are planning on driving this again.. i will probably tag along too.

Cheers,
-A
