Loud noise while driving
I was driving at 35 mph today and a sharp rap like noise occurred. It sounded like a rock had hit the driver's side of the Jeep. I stopped and looked the car over and there was no evidence of a rock hit. I re-drove the road where the sound happened and saw nothing. I considered a rock being thrown from a tire, but the inner fenders are non-metallic. I did a quick look under the car and could not see anything out of the ordinary. I know this sounds a little crazy, but has anyone else experienced this?
Re: Loud noise while driving
Yes I had the same experience last weekend, I put it down to a possible rock flying of the tires, why I say that is because I just fitted new much more aggressive treaded tires capable of grabbing onto a descent sized rock, also I have not had the problem or should I say sound prior to fitting the new tires. I think its just rocks missing the inner guarding and hitting the steel undercarridge, at least I hope it is.
