Prewired for power seats?

2 Attachment(s)
I dont have power seats but I was looking under the seats and was wondering if the wired connectors would be plug and play to add power seats? Here a pic of the driver and passenger connector.

I would guess those are there so the computer knows if you've buckled in or not and in the passenger seat whether there is a person in the seat or not.

Check out a vehicle with power seats at the dealership. Look at the harnesses under the seat. There is a good chance the existing harness in your vehicle will provide everything you need if you get new seats. The larger Red wire in the second picture could be the +12 for the seat motor.

i have been looking into this for my durango...should be same harness. Mine has all the necessary wires as the powered seat version, so as long as there is not a fuse needed or a relay somewhere in the fuse box it should work if you get the power seats...I am waiting for a wrecked durango or jeep to come into my sights so I can get the seats off of them.

One thing to keep in mind....

You may need to have the computer updated once you install the seats. Remember that you can set the vehicle to move the seat to the fully-back position when exiting the vehicle using a setting in the EVIC. This may have to be updated by a dealer after the seats are installed.

I don't believe my base Laredo does this and I do have a factory power drivers seat. This may be just for Laredo X and up or Limited and up.

You are going to have to compare one with power seats side by side, eventhough the plug is there the seat has a bunch of connections.

Active head rest
Sside airbag
Pressure sensor ( to detect if person on seat)

If you look at the plug you will see there are some wire positions that have the wire blanks in there.

Here is my thought since even the base Laredo had the power driver seat then it is highly likely that the wires are in the connector.

Chrysler probably are saving by not adding the motors to the tracks .

The seat rails are the same but the bases are different...

I decided to just add the power driver seat right now, I talked to the dealer and they said that all WK2s have the same harnesses, power seats or not, so all i need is to find a complete seat or the motorized base and swap everything over. now i just need to find a used power driver seat....
