another seafoam thread

well i was really hesitent to use it,im really not a believer in addatives but let me just say wowwwww, this stuff really works,i put one in the fuel a third in the crank and the rest in the vacuum line.no smoke at first then my wife came out and said what the h^ll happened, whats wrong with the jeep hhahaha, lots of white smoke, took it for a good drive and blew it out, just changed the oil and refueled,so much smoother, better mpg and maybe a little more power, thanks everyone,im a believer,
so my next question is how often and how soon can you do another treatment?

Seafoam is great stuff with the Hemi. Makes a night and day difference in just one application and frees up those sticky MDS lifters in no time. I use 1 bottle every 5k; 1/2 bottle in 1/2 tank of fuel, and the other 1/2 bottle in the oil 100 miles before every oil change. 80k on my 5.7, idles and runs perfect, no ticking.

If you periodically use fuel injector cleaner is there a benefit to Seafoam or pretty much same thing?

i personally dont like injector cleaner,i used it on my old blazer and fried my o2 sensor, not sure if it was a coincidence but it left a bad taste in my mouth, seafoam works just great

Re: another seafoam thread

dms,do you put it in the vac line also or just the crankcase?

Re: another seafoam thread

I did once, but no longer put it into the vac line as I have a Catch Can to keep the PCV system from getting dirty.
Fuel injector cleaner does nothing at all. I used the major brands out there every 5k and it is a waste of money. THen I tried Seafoam and it worked great, restored power, throttle response, got rid of the Hemi tick, and smoothed out idle.

Re: another seafoam thread

do you still get smoke just by adding it to the crank

Re: another seafoam thread

No smoke when you put in the oil; the oil will get dirty quickly, depending on how much buildup is in there, so keep checking the dipstick and change it when it gets dark. Usually no more than 100 miles. Install a catch can if you dont have one, that is without doubt the most important mod for a hemi, will keep things from getting gunked up, and runs better without those unburnt hydrocarbons added to the fuel mixture.

Alright then what is the consensus on split between gas tank, oil, and vac line for those that have used it?
