HUGE NEWS! New cams for the 4.7 V8!!!!!!!!

http://www.bionicdodge.com/bionic/in...?topic=10124.0

With all the requests we have weekly for 4.7L camshafts, we have decided to produce our own billet camshafts.

In the past when I first designed the 4.7 lobes (206/212/218/224) for Crane to grind, every other vendor jumped on the wagon and copied our work.

We are going to releasing our new billet camshafts for the 4.7L soon. We will have durations ranging from 210 to 260 duration at 0.050".
The first grinds are going to be 218/218 110lsa .510/.510 (KRC 218X) for stock botton end combos. Thanks for the interest!
No more lash caps or regrinds on stock cores removing the hardened surface as we did before. These are new CNC ground billet steel camshafts ground to KRC Performances specs, to be used with our SCT programs.
Using standard compression pistons, KRC Performances Ported heads, headers and a SCT tune, the New KRC 232 cam will net 360 rear wheel from the 4.7.
Using the Ross forged 11.5 compression pistons and the New KRC 242 will approach 390 rear wheel. I would not be surprised if you see a 5 speed Dakota hit 400+ with that combo.

Pricing for the old reground cams was $899, pricing for the new Billet Camshaft Pair will be around $1299. We will run an introductory price when I release them. There will be camshaft profiles for boost, towing and mild setups also. Feel free to contact us here or e-mail us at:

Excellent, about time too!

Hopefully I'll be getting a pair of those Summer time next year - with an SCT tune.

I would say the non HO gen 1 4.7 is looking at over 300 hp with these cams depending on other mods

Sounds like a very nice boost Scott!

08 intake manifold, F&B 72mm TB, those cams and a SCT tune (along with my K&N CAI and 3" Hi-Flow CAT / 3" CAT-Back system) would be a dream come true for me!

I don't think its that difficult to do but it is labour intensive as you need to remove a lot of bits to get access to them...

I was quoted around 10 hours to do them...

Way too rich for me by the time I got the cam, parts, and install i'd be looking at $2200+ I could probably drop a Hemi for a few bucks more?

One thing that none of you have taken into consideration is this. These are NEW BILLET cores that are being custom ground. It costs ALOT of money to do this. (5 figures). That, combined with the relatively low demand of 4.7 cams (in comparison to tons of Magnum/Hemi cam requests), drives the price up. Take a good look at 4.6/5.4 ford parts.....they are not cheap either.

That being said, there will likely be some reground OEM cams on the for sale sections of dodge forums for cheap. These cams coming out will likely be for the serious racer, i.e. not for the faint of heart.

This is making me re-consider going back to a NA-oriented build....

LOL.....did you copy and paste that from the bionic or dakota forums? Someone on there posted the same thing almost word for word.

This is actually not a bad price...but there will be a cheaper alternative from K1 Tech soon. It will also involve a stroker kit, forged everything and race ported heads if desired. be on the lookout this spring.
