Question for those who have an Aftermarket Cat-Back?

Has the sound/rumble/ etc seem to have mellowed out after you put on a few hundred miles on it?

Maybe it's just me or I got use to the sound, it's definitely mellowed out - still a noticeable difference at start-up and accelerating.:D

I have the Borla cat-back myself.

Here's a quote from an email from Borla: The sound of the Cat-Back can change slightly over the first few hundred miles, but it will not be a dramatic change. While the computer calibrate itself for the new system, the change in sound is actually due to the packing material used in the mufflers settling. Once the material has settled, the system should sound the same for the life of the car.

I got used to the sound of the exhaust.

Agree, I have the Corsas and it is so quiet compared to my Mustang. Part of that is probably because of more sound deadening material and different set ups. Startup and stepping down on the throttle though does sound mighty nice. Was just expecting more of that during cruising speeds or light throttle.

I noticed the same thing I took out my "drone busters" and realized I did not need them any more.

So it must be a combination of two things.

1. The ECU/PCM finally dialing in the proper calibration for the new exhaust.

2. As time goes by you forget that your car used to be so quiet that you could only hear the tires rolling on the pavement. And get used to the burble of the new exhaust
