Select trac II and quadra drive II

Got into a heated debate last night about these 2 and when they came out and what models so I thought I'd check with the gurus? When did these hit the streets??

I believe the Quadra Drive 2 debuted in the 2005 WK Grand Cherokee if I'm not mistaken.

Where they only offered in the JGC? Or other models too?

Re: Select trac II and quadra drive II

I believe it is Selec-Trac (without the t). There have been a number of transfer cases with those marketing names.

The Quadra-Drive II name debuted in the 2005 WK. Previously the system was simply Quadra drive.

Allpar reviews mention the Selec-trac II name in the 2002 WJ and 2004 WJ, perhaps earlier. But I think those are typos, confused with Quadra trac II. WJJeeps.com (or WKJeeps) doesn't mention Selec Trac II in any of their literature. Prior to the 2005 WK, when 4x4 systems are mentioned its always Quadra Trac I, Quadra Trac II, Selec Trac, or Quadra Drive

The liberty did not get Selec-Trac II until 2008 and currently Selec-Trac II is only available in the Liberty (perhaps called cherokee overseas). The new electric Quadra Drive case debuted in the 2011 WK2. The 2005 QDs had the gyropump case.

So i'm thinking 2005 for the Quadra Drive II and 2008 for Selec Trac II names.

But the selec trac II and the 2011+ quadra trac II transfer cases are similar in that they use an electric motor to activate the clutch pac. So if you are talking about the newest electric motor actuated clutch transfer case, the liberty had one in 2008, the WK not until Model Year 2011.
