Rear upper suspension arm bushings

Did one of you already change the rear upper suspension arm bushings? I know some of you just changed the complete arm, but i have the bushings now and just want to change them. It seems that the bushings are just press fit in.

From what I've read they are Frank but they're supposed to be a pain. Also bud you might want to change that ball joint while you have it out. Good luck and keep us posted

Frank,

The bushings are very simple press-out, press-in units. No problems here, although it can be cheaper to simply purchase a new arm assembly...

Re: Rear upper suspension arm bushings

For you guys in the states it probably is cheap to order a complete new arm, but here in Brazil i normally pay more for the shipping then the costs for the part itself and then they put another 60% tax on top.
So i will just replace the bushings, but it seems that a hydraulic press is required to get them out/in.

Re: Rear upper suspension arm bushings

Yes, they are VERY hard to press in and out, and I'm not sure if my replacements were cheap or I damaged them but they did not last long and I ended up replacing the whole arm 2 months later. That said with a hydraulic press it shouldn't be too difficult to pop them out and the new ones in, just make sure they go in straight, the arm is a 2 piece unit so there is a bit of a lip inside where the bushings fit. Make sure to check the ball joint while you are down there, if its loose you might as well replace it while you have the A-arm out. Tony did a similar procedure when his ball joint went out, replaced the arm and joint.
