2011 JGC Overland Evaporator
My A/C has been running hot lately (essentially not blowing any cold air). I brought it into the dealership this morning and after looking at it for about an hour, they said my evaporator core is leaking. Price to replace was $1600 (parts + labor) + $200 to Recharge the A/C. On top of that, they charged me $100 today to diagnose it.
My jeep is less than two years old with approx 45K miles on it (80 miles/day commute).
I'm having a hard time committing to putting $2K into a vehicle that is less than two years old. Any thoughts? Guess I should have gotten the extended warranty?!? LOL
Thanks in advance for any comments/thoughts/suggestions! :)
Re: 2011 JGC Overland Evaporator
Before your evaporator when AWOL, did it make any odd honks, squeals, trombone type noises. Mine is and I'm awaiting a fix from Jeep.
Looks like your warranty period is a lot less that Australia, however we are only on a 3 years or 100,000km (circa 60,00miles) standard warranty, that considering the vast distances we travel to get to places you can travel in less than two years! Good luck Mate. Two years out of an AC system is pretty poor, but I wonder if the system was slowly disintegrating?
Cheers for any info.
