Replace '12 Heated Seat with Heated/Cooled Seat

I have a '12 JGC Altitude. It has heated, but not cooled seats. Has anybody tried to change out a heated seat for the heated/cooled seat? I know the leather won't match due to the perf leather on the cooled seat.

Are all the connections there and I just need to put a switch in the dash? I appreciate your input.

I have cloth heated seats and am also interested to know if I can add cooled seats.

I'd also be interested in this. Wanted cooled seats, but didn't want to go all the way up in models.

Far more complicated than that. The ventilated seats each have 2 motors (fans) inside them, controlled via the Heated Seat Module. The HSM sends variable analog voltages to control the fan speed. The wiring for this could be tricky, the wiring diagrams for the different seat configurations are quite complex, especially when they are heated/ventilated/power adjustment options/memory. In addition there is wiring for the front passenger seat bottom cushion contains which an Occupant Detection Sensor.

I'm sure it would be possible to wire the 12v seat fans to an aftermarket switch, but the challenge lies in getting the rest of the seat functions to work properly. One look at the seat wiring diagrams would cause most folks to not want to take the challenge.

It *might* be possible to just swap in the seat cushions themselves (and fans) but the wiring for the heating elements would probably be different (the vented seat pad and the heated seat pad are a one piece assembly).

I bet the wiring is already there and you just swap the climate control panel for one with cooled seat buttons. I swapped my manual climate control for auto without the heated or cooled seats but those are simply a different part number.
