Torque curve

Has anyone seen a torque curve for the GC 2012 3.0 v6 CRD motor?
:D

Hi Robbie,
A visual is shown here, comparing OEM versus the chip that looks to be a favorite upgrade to the DownUnder CRD's.

That's interesting I was led to believe the non chip torque curve was flatter and reached max a lot earlier than that.

Re: Torque curve

That torque curve is at the wheels, not the engine flywheel.

There would be a number of factors and transmission losses coming into it to make the curve look different. If someone was able to test an engine without any ancilliaries attached, chipped and unchipped, you would see a different curve with the bit between 1500 and 2800 rpm noticeably flatter.

Even so, the standard torque curve showm is actually pretty flat. From 1500 rpm all the way to 3700 rpm it stays above 450Nm. Above 500Nm from 1800rpm to 2800rpm. That's pretty damn good.

You're reading it wrong. Red is torque (Nm), and peaks almost immediately in the rpm. The blue is the hp, which is never going to be flat as it includes rpm as a component of its value. Unless you had major torque loss as rpm went up, and I mean MAJOR torque loss.
