Another new "problem" since I did the mods

Driving around tonight I noticed when I slow down to a stop and have my foot on the brake the engine revs real quick to 1500rpm then back down, i thought I might have somehow hit the gas but I made sure I wasnt and it kept happening. Is it normal? Maybe its only noticable now that I can hear the exhaust when it happens and the radio stations are still changing, im started to second guess my mods but im guessing that can be fixed with the quick reset so im not too worried about that, I just forgot to do it today. :(

Mods are K&N 63 CAI and Magnaflow muffler. The jump in RPM's is really noticable now with the exhaust so im not sure if its a new issue or old. I doubt I would have noticed it without the increase in sound I hear now.

Hmm, that is bizzare. My Jeep has never done anything like that before, from stock to my current mods...

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for a few hours to reset the PCM?

Re: Another new "problem" since I did the mods

check some of your connections on the K&N and then resett the pcm by disconnecting the negative battery terminal

Re: Another new "problem" since I did the mods

1. disconnect negative terminal from battery
2. check that K&N for leaks. tighten EVERY connection point.
3. make sure your vacuum canister is set up and hose connected to it. it originally is attached to your airbox but you had to move it to install k&N.
4. step on brake for 30 seconds to clear computer memory
5. reconnect negative terminal
6. go for a drive and report back.

Mine will rev up to about 900 rpms when I'm slowing down and the transmission shifts from 2nd to 1st. But not up to 1500 rpm.
