Has anyone else dealt with mopar.com.au?

I ask this because I bought a front and transfer case skid plates on the website last Tuesday.

However, after about 5 emails, calls to dealers and the Fiat Chrysler customer service centre, I still don't know where they are or when I can expect to get them.

I got quite annoyed with the customer service rep because like I said to her, I can handle having to wait if they're out of stock (God knows the front recovery hook prepared me for that) but it's the fact that no one from Jeep can pick up a phone or type an email to let me know.

I also found out that the guy who handles the website enquiries has gone on holidays so apparently the whole system shuts down!

The rep has assured me that she will follow it up and get back to me. Based on previous experience (recovery hook) I won't hold my breath. So am I the only one?

Cheers,

Clarkey.

Clarkey,

I use mopar.com.au as a reference, for part numbers and such, and then go elsewhere if I want to buy something.

That e-store just lacks up front info on how the order process works, contact details, and so on, which is what made me go elsewhere.

Thanks savvas,

I know what you mean and the only reason I went with them was shipping the plates from the US was just too expensive. I guess you get what you pay for hey?

Where did you get the shipping costs from? The sums I did had all 3 plate sets from justforjeeps with shipping coming out at less than mopar.com.au.

But then I hit my dealer for a quote and they came close to justforjeeps, so I'm going with them.

I looked at Just for Jeeps because I got my fuel tank skids through them. I was going to put the plates on bit by bit because I couldn't afford one lump sum outlay.

Anyway, shipping from mopar.com.au is absorbed by them because they just send the items to your nearest dealer. Cost for freight is only added if you want it sent from the dealer to your house.

Re: Has anyone else dealt with mopar.com.au?

I ordered a tow-bar from them last Friday simply because there was no option for a Mopar bar other than going to a dealer. I first checked availability and apparently they has heaps in store in Melbourne. The transaction went through smoothly other than that it gets deliverred the nearest dealer rather than to your door. I guess it states that in the fine print somewhere.

The site looks professional enough and like all good e-commerce sites it has an "Order Tracker" button. On clicking it, it asks for your receipt #, first name then second name. My receipt number was #212 so I'm guessing they don't get many orders. One then clicks the "Find Order" button and sure enough, up comes the order. Then when one looks for tracking details, the big let down. You get the standard Chrysler Aust. response to see you dealer. Actually they show the contact details of your nearest dealer to whome the item is to be sent.

So I went to the dealer today to touch base. They were shocked. They had no idea that Mopar was selling direct and no idea that they were using the dealers as pick-up points. They would not have known what to do with the part when it arrived. They took my details and promised to ring when the item arrived which they expected in a few days. So all in all, I'm prepared for the usual Chrysler Aust. stuff up. I'll keep you posted.

Sounds familiar. My order # is 201 so I see they keep taking our money even though they provide zero customer service. I was assured by the Fiat Chrysler customer service rep that she would find out the status of my order and get back to me. If I haven't heard from her by the time I finish work tomorrow I'll call them... AGAIN!

I went to the Order Tracking site again and noticed that there was an enquiry box so I wrote a comment and clicked Send. Guess what? You guessed it, the enquiry gets sent to the dealership not Mopar. This was the dealership that had no idea the site existed. Back to square one!

Re: Has anyone else dealt with mopar.com.au?

Pick up my tow bar today. No dramas at all. The dealer explained that he got an email from Chrysler telling him that I had bought the part online. He rang them to find out how it was supposed to work. They explained that the dealer is supposed to supply the part out of stock if he had it or order it in if he didn't. Luckily he had one in stock. I probably could have picked it up earlier if either of us had known how it was supposed to work. I'm still not sure if the dealer was supposed to ring me or what. Anyway, all's well that ends well. So it is going to be a busy weekend. The instructions say to allow 1.5 hours, yeah, sure, right! The bar is a Mopar labelled Best Bars tow bar and man is it heavy.
