Auxillary Brake System 11/12 Grand Cherokee

Hope that this is the correct section to post in - Guess it could be Interior -?

Need to install an auxillary braking system in a 2012 Grand Cherokee. This unit applies the Jeep brakes when the vehicle towing it (Motor Home) applies brakes. The unit that I have, I took out of my 2008 Liberty. It consists of a rather large servo motor that pulls a cable that is attached to the brake pedal. In the Liberty, I had it mounted under the Driver's Seat. This worked, except that it took up rear passenger foot space. In the Grand Cherokee, it is to large to go under the driver's seat, as it interferes with the seat track, and the storage are under the driver's seat. I am considering mounting it on the passenger side firewall, however it a brief look last night I did not see a path from the passenger to driver's side over the transmission hump near the firewall.
Other components consist of a control box and a vacuum pump. Vacuum pump goes under the hood and attaches to the brake booster vacuum line.
The unit is made by US Gear and is the UTB-1000. Any information on a path for the cable from Passenger to Driver's side, or experience mounting this type of unit would be appreciated.
TIA
Michael

Re: Auxillary Brake System 11/12 Grand Cherokee

I had the US Gear system in my Wrangler and really liked it. With the GC, I went ahead and got the Air Force One system that works off the motor home air brakes. I like it much better. Either way, they're both good systems - just a little different in how they operate.

Since I also use a Roadmaster All Terrain II tow bar, I had to remove the front tow hooks from the Jeep for the tow bar quick-disconnects. Now I'm trying to figure out a way to install some other tow hooks or D rings. Oh well, can't seem to have it all. :D

I just looked at the Stay-In-Play Duo - hate to spend another grand on a second system - maybe I could sell that one I have for a few $$ to make up the difference.
