Sluggish and no reverse!

Driving my diesel the other day. The vehicle feels slow and sluggish, almost as if 1/2 the power is gone. Then trying to parallel park, shift in reverse, nothing...feels like it's in neutral. Park it somewhere, shut it down. Wait a few minutes and everything is fine again. Any idea what's going on. I've search the forum...from limp mode to shifter problems. Just wanted to ask before heading out to the dealer.

on the diesel, there's no dipstick to check. however, there is apparently a warning light when it's low....no light yet.

never heard of a fluid level lamp... not that there isnt one, just never heard of one. Is your check engine lamp on?

No CEL light at all.

Sounds like an ignition related issue. However, I know next to nothing about diesel ignition systems.

Well, dealer found the tranny fluid level is good, no leak. Reflash the ECU and will monitor it for now. The engine feels a lot smoother.

Just a follow-up. replaced the speed sensor unit in the transmission. it's called the ElectroHydraulic Control Unit (be careful, there's a different unit for '07 and '08). It's hidden above the pan so did the tranny fluid (90000kms) gasket and filter as well. The transmission shift very nice now and with the new fluid really helps too.
