VHT NightShades

I have Clear LED Spyder TailLights. However I want to make them darker since they are clear. I dont know if it will look good or not. I have a Red Limited 06. Can anybody thats used NightShades upload pics? And i also have a few questions.
Does this stuff stay on nice for a few years or so?
Is it hard to apply and do all the prep?
How long after starting does it take for it to dry and to be able to put back on? 1 day?
How mant coats would look good over clear lights to give a tinted look?
Is it good quality stuff?
Thanks

not a fan of the VHT. Most of the ppl that useit, it becomes dull and looks like crap after a while. Ive seen some that looked pretty darn good tho after clearcoat. How much darker are you planning to go? If it's dark like my tails in my sig, ill recommend sending it to one of our vendors and getting it prof. painted. Or you can apply a film(laminx) to it.

I am with Dave. Not a huge fan of VHT but it can serve a purpose. Here are mine with a VHT border. I didn't bother clear coating them because I am not crazy about them and plan to color match paint them at some point.

I have to agree with everyone above, VHT will give a very dull appearance, especially if not cleared.

I do have a set of professionally tinted taillights for sale if you're interested?

Just tape off the lines and spray. When you look at the tails you will see the lines I am talking about. There are two lines that section off each section of the tail light. Like I said above, I recommend using paint instead of VHT.

I used vht on my led tails and love it. Just gotta put a couple layers of clear coat on top. I did the vht with multiple light layers then apply the clear coat thick.

that's what I used on several parts. light sand, adhesion promoter, primer, paint. Then clear the whole headlight.

Send it off to be professionally painted. I did mine with Rustoleum lens tint and a clear coat while it looks pretty good it isn't shiny it's more matte. For 30$ it's worth it but the professionally sprayed ones are much nicer and longer lasting
