Plastic cover on the back of leather front seats?

The plastic cover/panel on the back of my Overland's driver's seat appears to be warping. There's about a 1/4" space between the top edge of the panel and the back of the seat. I can see the wiring, etc. inside the seat through the gap.

I've heard there may be a service advisory regarding the fit of these panels.

Anyone have this issue and/or know if a service advisory exists?

It's still under warranty,so take it back to your dealer.
I'm sure they'll make it right for you.
Cheers

I had the same problem, took to the dealer and they had to order clips. It was like this the day i picked it up. Still waiting on the clips.

I had the same issue recently the top portion of the seat back was popping out and I would not snap back in.

My situation was I had installed a Katzkin interior and did not want my A-HOLE dealership to deny my claim because I had removed it already

I popped off the panel only to find that some of the retaining clips that are attached to the panel had broken.

The panel has two plastic legs (one at each corner) at the top that hold on two metal clips. The there are another two plastic legs (one on each side)

The remaining clips are at the bottom

If you need to remove yours grab the bottom edge and tug firmly them swing out the bottom and lower the top tabs from the seat.

Here is what I did to fix the huge plastic panel

I welded the plastic by using my soldering iron and to melt back together where it had broken.

It was an average 20 watt soldering iron that you can get at Walmart for $6.

If your cars are having the same issue mine did then they will need to reorder the entire rear panel for the back of the seat.

My repair job is holding up it is going on two weeks and it still fits snuggly

Re: Plastic cover on the back of leather front seats?

My passenger seat has a slight annoying rattle so I took the plastic cover off to try and find the problem.

Anyhow, the cover simply slots in and clips on / off in 2-3 seconds. Sounds like it has either not slotted in (aligned) or it's not clipped on correctly.

Start by sticking your fingers under the bottom section and pulling up. From memory there are 4 clips, 2 at the bottom, 2 in the middle and it slides / slots in at the top so you need to pull it downwards.

Hope this helps.
