WK2 passed my roll-over potential test

Was in the city the past weekend and we hit a fork in the road. I was on the outside lane closest to the one road that either went straight or turn. This one person decided that they made a mistake being in the middle lane and just HAD to get in the street that went straight. What did he do? You got it, he/she cut me off while we were doing a half turn onto the other road. I had to slam on the brake while instantly jerking the wheel to the right then the left to avoid the guy/girl. Luckily nobody was hurt, especially my still new looking Jeep. The Jeep performed admirably and I just drove on like nothing had happened. In fact, my wife asked me if I was okay and I said "yeah" without a care in the world. My heart wasn't even racing as it normally would.

My old WJ Jeep would have rolled. I know since it was the same maneuver I pulled when trying to avoid a deer.

What was interesting was that throughout the day I kept driving next to people wanting to get into my lane as though wasn't even there. That was certainly a strange, frustrating day.

So, there was my "moose test" and happy my 2012 GC passed.

I hate stupid drivers!

My Jeep also just passed a moose test. I was in the right lane of a major road (4 lanes each direction) preparing for a turn in a quarter mile or so traveling 47 mph (limit 45). An old minivan neglected to check for traffic and pulled out directly in front of me. I had no choice but to immediately change lanes and change back or cream the cars in front of me. Even with the evasive maneuver I just missed hitting the van by a few inches at best. The jeep took it with just a few squawks from the tires, but I never felt as if I wasn't in control.

Do either of you have the air suspension? And what size wheels? Good to hear your Jeeps performed so well.

Wow! Scary. It's really nice knowing that all the systems worked as they should. I'm sure the wider wheelbase contributed to the stability too. Glad you made it out safely. My goodness, why do people think they're so entitled?

I have an Overland Summit, with 20" wheels and air suspension that was set on Auto. I'm curious (not really) what would have happened if I was in Sport mode where it supposedly turns off stability control.

Just an FYI, The ESC is never completely off, it kinda just let's you have a little fun within the limits it has been programmed to but still maintains a sort of low level of ESC.

I wish it was like in the old WK where you could hold the button for 5 seconds and it would say ESC Disabled :)
