Re: Performance Chips?!?

A chip temporarily advances timining and richens the A/F, then shortly after you install it, the ECU will relearn itself back to the stock parameters, soi they are a waste of money. You need a tuner.

Re: Performance Chips?!?

I use a superchips tuner on my 2001 4.7L and notice some nice gains especially at WOT. Superchips however just has some canned tunes and is good for a stock or mildly modded engine (intake, exhaust). If you plan on doing bigger mods or want custom tuning look into an SCT, I hear our vendor Flyin Ryan Performance works miracles with some custom tunes.

'05 4.7s are stuck with just Superchips or a B&G flash if you needed something more. SCT does not support the '05 4.7s, just the '05 3.7s and and 5.7s.

Hi Ryan, is this still the case for modding a 2005 GC 4.7? is SC all there is?:(

For one they're outrageously priced. I also think that if they were any good you'd be seeing lots of favorable reviews on these forums. I don't recall seeing even one.

I grabbed one as it was in special at local lordcoparts like really on special. And I like it. I've seen YouTube clips of it out performing the sc equaviant.. I haven't even tried the 93oct tune yet but will tomorrow before I install the exhaust

I run the hypertec on my 3.7, I like it but at the same time I wish it had more adjustability in it

I ended up trading my Hypertech in for the super chips flashpaq.. Te Hypertech one was great but I do prefer the sc tuner.. Just feels stronger in lower rpms. Both good but the sc was better. Plus got free spark plugs in exchange coz Hypertech one was more expensive. Autolite iridium performance and already see pretty big difference jn mpg
