Most Comfortable Shock/Strut/Springs/Suspension Upgrades

Hi there,

I'm looking to replace almost every suspension part on my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK Laredo 4.7 WD with 120,000 miles on them.

I live in Montreal, Canada which is know for potholes, %&$ streets, snow, rain, salt, rocks, etc.

I want the most comfortable ride possible because I don't do any offroading except for once a year in the summer on unpaved/gravel country roads on the way to Labrador in the North East Coast.

Can you please tell me your brand input on the following parts:

1) Shocks (I heard Stock or Monroes would be comfier, I dont want a stiff ride, I like it bouncy and comfy like a cadillac).

2) Struts?

3) Springs? Bwoody?

4) Sway bar links?

5) Sway bar bushings?

6) Tie Rods?

7) What other part would you change to get a comfy ride?

:D

1 & 2. Monroe or OME
3. Stock springs are the softest, avoid any lowering springs as Bwoody.
4. This component does not affect ride comfort unless it needs replacement.
5 & 6. See 4.
7. Use high profile tires. Michelin LTX/MS2 could be a good choice, see tirerack.com

Thx man, you saved me a bunch of time!

Was also thinking Michelin Ltx A/T2's or Firestone Destinations AT's, will probably go with the Michelins.

Stock or KYB shocks. new stock springs too, as 120k is a lot of miles, and they are not very costly; also get new upper and lower OEM coil spring isolators for each spring, as those wear out. I replaced mine at 70k and they made a big imprvement.
Tires make a huge difference. Firestone Dest. AT are rough riding compared to the Cooper AT3. I ran the Firestones for several years and thought they were great, but Coopers are far better for smoothness on the HWY and over bumps.

im thinking of revamping my suspension at 100k and am looking for a comfy ride as well... my plans are as follows.

- hemi fornt coils/xk rears (for some height)
- rustys front spacer (level her out)
- new isolator, strut plates, etc.
- swap my bwoody 2" links for stock height links
- as for shocks... im clueless on the best ride, aside from stock.

SRT bilsteins? i have HD bilsteins right now- but im not sure ill like that ride at stock height.

any feedback on KYB? MONROE?
