NEW 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee spy pics(thanks 12sleeper!)

awesome spy pics by JeepGarage member 12Sleeper! This is a 2014 Overland Summit heading overseas for testing...possibly the Ring? Germany? etc.? New rear bumper, exhaust tips, new black Nappa summit leather etc etc.

AWFUL rear bumper design. I could probably live with the chrome strips under the doors but that rear bumper is too fussy, took the simple design and screwed it up with the double chrome strips and polygon exhaust tips.

Going after that benz look

Looks ok I guess. Not sure about the two tone in the back but maybe it would look a bit better in a flat black like it is now. Little scared though I have to admit... Can't wait see more pics on the different models.

Notice the font is different on the Grand Cherokee emblem.

So is that rear bumper gray?

That's exactly what my first impression was - and I think that's not a bad idea. It's sets the Jeep apart from all other US- and Japanese designs.

That's funny:

to each his own.

There will probably be models without the lower chrome I would imagine. This is just the Overland Summit supposedly.

I think I like it...a lot!!!! I always knew they had to do something about that plain old just like all other SUV's looking back end on the 2011-2013 WK2's. And this picture doesn't even show what the new LED tail lights look like ;-) can't wait to see those!
Awesome to see they finally designed a bumper that has a cover for the ugly hitch in the back. Upon closer inspection, it almost appears that all they did was redesign the lower valance and put on different exhaust tips. Possibly good news for those that won't be upgrading, but want the newer look without too much trouble or money.
I also noticed this vehicle has the SRT side moldings around the wheel wells as well as painted lower side skirt (which also has a chrome strip). I'm really liking this thing.
Are we sure this is a Summit and not an SRT8?

How about the wheels? Are those the current SRT8-wheels or will they be new as well (I don't expect black wheels though - but we often see them black on test-vehicles)?

I also like the hidden tow-mount and, IMO, the chrome-stripes below the doors look much more stylish than the chrome-stripes glued right on to the doors.

If that painted section of the bumper really stays that way for all colors...another reason to get a mineral gray Jeep..

Hmm, the way these little chromed "step-bars" are integrated....they somehow remind me of power step-bars I've seen on other vehicles..;)
