three visits to the dealership, nothing.

ok background...

2007 4.7 laredo 28X BA sound system.

When its COLD and the radio is on, as im driving and the vehicle warms up. There is a BAD distortion in the front passenger speaker.

It sounds like a split between interference and a short in the speaker. it is associated with bass. Like when the bass guitar plays, or the notes in the song get low, its what the distortion seems to be associated with.

It slowly gets worse, then gets horrible, then slowly goes away. Then it sometimes MOVES and does the same thing in the rear pass speaker.

The dealership has replaced the front pass speaker and the head unit. But they have never actually heard the problem.

Am i wrong in thinking that something may be wrong with the BA amp? if its switching speakers?

any imput would ROCK... thanks!

Do the amp next.

Process of elimination.

Head unit => speaker wire harness => amp => speaker wire => speaker

Amp ground? But why would that only affect one or two speakers. If the amp has a flaky ground, it wouldn't discriminate what speakers are affected.

I have the old BA amp I removed from my 07' sitting on a shelf. If you'd like, we could maybe meet up and switch it out with yours to see if it makes a difference. I am located about 4r mins north of Balt on I83. We could also do it at the Jan 9th meet @ Hooters in Rockville. Shouldn't take but 15mins to do the switch.

I intend to be at the Rockville meet on the 9th too and if you can wait that long I will bring along the tools to swap them out. You are welcome to run it long enough to determine if it is the amp and then decide what you want to do as far as the dealership. No big hurry on my part to get it back as it really isn't of much use to me unless my kicker amp should crap out.

Just let me know if that works for you.

My 02 is doing the exact same thing, however, I have Memphis PR components in the front doors.

Strange!

it could either be like karpe said a bad ground or the amp is bad but if thats not the problem, check the factory radio connections, make sure its not rubbing against metal and check the connections goin to the amp. dont forget that when the factory runs the wires for any car, they are usually pressed hard agains the body and any seat or console when they are bolted together. i had a case that my left side door speaker didnt work n found out after taking the door panel apart and the rubber connector that a wire was cut. and that was from factory cuz till i got it, it still had factory system.
