North Carolina Resonator Question

Anyone know if you can remove the resonator and still pass inspection in NC? '05 Grand Limited 5.7L Thanks in advance.

Re: Resonator Question

Yea man, you can remove the resonator and be just fine in NC. You will only run into trouble if you take the catalytic converters off, which will throw a CEL and you will not pass the NC emissions test for the inspection. I did the same thing with my WK, and it sounds great!

Re: Resonator Question

Is there any other benefit of removing it besides it sounding better?

Took my res off five years it sounds the same to me no drone muffler sound with stock muffler, if you go with aftermarket muffler it will drone and mds will sound funny.

I took my reso off with an aftermarket Gibson and I didn't get any drone nor did it sound funny when the MDS kicked in.

And JeepCoop took his reso off with a Magnflow muffler and didn't have any issues either.
