I saw a video on ebay were the guy just uses a suction hose in the fill hole on the front and rear to remove the old fluid then just fills it with the new stuff, is that how you do it or do you take the case off? I've been thinking about doing it myself with the youtube method since it looks simple and took him like 15min tops.

OoOoO, take notes when you do the tranny. (<-- that didn't sound right, lol)

I ordered the two filters from MoparPartsAmerica recently (as well as the PCV valve) and just need to get the oil.

I was planning on having a shop do it, but if you're able to provide good enough instruction, I may just do it myself. I've also got a stack of stuff I need to start taking care of (brake pads f/r, t-stat, spark plugs, tranny, axle lube).

LOL, I will most likely do the tranny next weekend. But I will try to get lots of pictures and do a writeup on it.

Wow nice, Jeep, did you sell it? My pic is of my grandpop during the Korean war but it looks like with all the snow in the pic he must have had some fun in the Jeep. :)

Pics would be great. Mine is do for a total fluid change, I was going to have a shop do it also but I'd rather do it myself as long as I dont mess it up.

Nice eye you have there:thumbsup: I have the other 2 quarts in the garge. I bought extra last oil change and just needed 6 this time. Although it shows a little low I only put the 7 quarts in the 5.7L It's all the manual calls for. The 4.6L in the F150s showed the same way. They called for a certain amount but you had to add more to make it show full on the stick. All of the trucks around me started leaking oil after a few years that had been added up to the full mark on the stick, and I always used what the manual called for and never had any leaks.

I did get the transfer case oil from the local Jeep stealer. 11.95 per bottle. Not bad I guess.

Yes, I sold it. Wish I had not though. I was out of places to keep my vehicles in my garage, and had the old Jeep under my Grandmas shed and it was getting ruined so I sold it. My Jeep came from the Korean war.

Your Grandpop may have drove it!
