Hood repair help/ideas

1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys. So before I got my wj the hood struts had gone out and in the wisdom that never seems to shock me someone put a bar, stick or something in to hold up the hood. So now I have a nice dent and paint chipped off about 5" left of the center bodyline (driverside) and about right in the middle lengthwise. I'm really not feeling up to painting the entire thing and have been out of the painting indurtry so long that I don't trust my matching skills with the inferno red tinted pearlcoat paint.

Now my question for you. Ideas on what to do besides painting the entire hood. Stripes similar to cheapjeep? One stripe offset to that side similar to the pic. Black from outer body line to the other outer body line leaving some red on the sides?

My idea is to fix the rust, seal and prime the spot then do something with vinyl. I have a silver front bumper and would kind of like to do something to tie that in more, nothing gaudy I like to keep it simple. Same color asymetrical stripe maybe?

Thanks in advance

P.S. I'll work on pics so you have a better idea of the damage.

Hell Dustin get some plastidip and play around like Fibs did. When you get something you like you can always peel it off and paint it.

I thought about that also after re-reading his thread about his hood. Never used it before so I may have to try it out.
