Worst Voice recognition EVER

It's pretty amazing to me how bad the voice recognition is in my 2012 Overland.

Find McDonalds.....works fine
Find Best Buy......works fine

Find Carmel Diner......gives me Bell Showrooms in 20 locations starting 70 miles away!

Find Diner.......give me Red Roof Inn starting 500 miles away!

No amount of voice training or changes in voice tonality make a damn worth of difference. It's just incredibly BAD.

This is why so many of us have to use the Lockpick and Jeep should be paying for it since the voice interface is really not all that usable.

Mine often does the same thing when I type it in. It is more like the worst GPS unit ever than the voice recognition.

That was part of the reason I got the 430N. The 730N's voice command infuriated me.

BTW, what's a Carmel Diner?

Typing stuff in works perfect every time. There is no way the designers sold this believing it worked via voice.

Not unique to Chrysler, the Jeep's voice recognition is better than whats in my Lexus believe it or not.

Hey, I've had several fine lunches at Carmel Diner! A classic small diner in Carmel, NY. Diners started in New England and are slowly are spreading across the country. You might call them a coffee shop, but they have a larger menu.

Yup...I live 10 minutes from Carmel Diner. And my GPS finds it fine so long as I type it in. In fact typing stuff NEVER fails, though it might locate a place by name I did not know about, like Best Buy Mattresses or something.
I actually am fine with the GPS, but lord help you if you think you'll be able to use it well with voice commands. You really need the lockpick to make it usable.

I'll say this - the voice command for the phone portion of it works great. Even when I say it slightly different than the car thinks I should.

Which reminds me, I have a buddy I need to tell him to change how his last name is pronounced. UConnect doesn't agree with his pronunciation of it, and gets all snarky with e after I say it his way :P
