RPM problem
 
So here's the situation. When i accelerate hard my RPMs go up to 5,000 rpm and keep going. It seems like it isn't shifting into the next gear or something. And if i let off the gas the RPMs go back down. But i have never seen this problem in any other car. It isn't a big problem, but gets really annoying. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

Miles? Last tune up? ever change tranny fluid.

Only has about 50,000 miles and im not sure about the tune up.

Id really start with new spark plugs, egr valve, new fluids in the front/rear diffs, tranny and trans case. Its hard to pinpoint problems accurately when you dont know whats been done.

A good rule of thumb is if you bought it used, replace all the cheap little stuff tha wears out that alot of people overlook.
