instument cluster needle no move
my mom has a mechanic and he took apart my dash so he could replace the heater core... well my 2002 wj is the only vehicle i have and he kept it for about a week and a half and my mom needs her vehicle back... so i just got it back today and now the instrument cluster does not work. the "improper key" light, low fuel light, fasten seatbelt, check engine and a couple other lights are on. and all needles are pointing to the left even with the engine on. oh yea the dash board is still out of it. and am planing on putting it back in on friday the 14. is this not working because of nothing else is pluged in? need help:eek:

What do you mean with nothing else is plugged in? Ofcourse when one or more connectors are still loose, probably you problem is there. Check it again when all connectors are plugged in.

Re: instument cluster needle no move
like what im trying to say is... i hope this makes sense... there is no radio no controls for the fan i cant even role down my windows. the outside temp isnt even showing. the miles until empty is blank (--) that is what it shows... everything is unplugged i literally have no dash. all that you are able to see is the hvac system the only things plugged in are the essentials to make the vehicle driveable. the BCM is plugged in i do know that

Re: instument cluster needle no move
The instrument cluster gets its info regarding speed, rpm etc via the PCI data bus from the PCM. Also EVIC and power windows use the PCI bus to get or send information. So most probably the data bus wire is disconnected at some point for the dash removal. I would say check for any loose connectors before reinstalling the dash.

Re: instument cluster needle no move
i think it was a loose wire... everything works now after wiggling the dash and wires around
