Double Din help!

Evening Folks! Shopping online for CD players. Looking to slip a sleak new Double Din touch screen bad boy into the 05 WK. Only problems i'm having is the dash.I am going to check, but i pressume the cd player will come with a double din sleeve. I'm worried that once i remove the stock cdplayer i'm left with a hideous gap or something?

Anyone know where i can get the right fascias and panels etc?

Thanks!

First you need the Nav Bezel from the jeeps that came with the stock double din screen.

Like this.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/07-JE...Q5fAccessories

Then you need to order a trim kit from somewhere like crutchfield, I have one and it lets you install either a single or double din unit in that nav bezel. I have a single din right now until I can get the cash saved up for a nice touchscreen.

You can get that here.

Hope that helps ya bro!

Don't want to high jack your thread, but this might be helpful also. I'm looking at an AVIC x710bt...I already have the Peripheral thing to make my stock stereo be able to output to RCA for my sub...can I j ust plug the bare wires coming from the pioneer harness into the peripheral harness? or do i need to buy line out converter for 200 bucks?

So, right now you have;

Stock CD player => Peripheral harness to RCA => amp

and you're looking to do;

Pioneer receiver => harness => amp

...?

If so, the current Peripheral harness is not the proper harness to convert the factory wiring to aftermarket receiver wiring (to the bets of my knowledge). I think that harness only converts the factory wiring into a set of RCA's for external amp input.

Link me to the harness you have now...

Matt, you are correct. the Harness I currently have does not convert from aftermarket-->stock directly. However, I was wondering if plugging the wires directly into the peripheral harness from the aftermarket harness would suffice.

I have http://pac-audio.com/productDetails....&CategoryID=28 that interface as of rightnow. I actually found the manual and is looking like I have to buyh the OEM-1 module from them and use that but input is still wanted

Hmm, it's hard to tell from the pic if all of the wires you need are indeed there.

I wouldn't chance it. I'd just buy the correct adapter and sell the one you have now.

You could always email PAC and see if they can confirm that you could snip the connector off and crimp the aftermarket harness to the matching wires. Might be worth it.

I'm hjust gonna email PAC and see what they say I should buy. All I need is something to convert the pio harness to my stock harness because I can use the pio harness's subwoofer outs for my sub.

Re: Double Din help!

Well, the Pio harness that will come with the receiver will not have clips on both ends. One end will be dangling wires that you'll have to strip and crimp or solder to another harness. That other harness will convert the factory wiring into a universal connector (PAC ~ $100).

You have two options;

1) Snip off the universal connector and crimp or solder the Pio dangling wire harness (comes with the receiver) and this harness (the PAC aftermarket harness - but not the one you have, I don't think).

2) Go to BB and buy a Pioneer-Universal harness ~20 bucks. Clips on each end.

Got a link to that pioneer harness?

It's going to look like that, but you need to make sure it fits your model year Pioneer radio. That one says 2003-2004, not sure how accurate that can be.

Check out avic411.com for some more info.
