Gash in tire sidewall

I just noticed a gash in my driver side tire side wall. WK2 with 6K file on it bought new. Anyone know of any warranty on something like that. Granted, I'm not sure of the cause, may just be road hazard, like a curb? Anyone with experience on new car/new tires??? Thanks.

No Factory warranty, either tire nor Jeep will cover it. DId you buy the tire "road hazard package that may have been offered from the F&I department. If not, then your up a creek.

Do you have a full size spare? swap that on and use the damaged tire as a spare...still not a GREAT idea but better then driving on a damaged tire.

I have a light cut in the sidewall of my tyre, i have rotated it to the back just in case it blows but i think it is only surface damage, only 10,000km on mine.

Depends on how deep it is to if it is an issue or not.

FYI: "full size" spare on WK2 is not the same size as regular tire (as it was on my '98 ZJ)

The WK2's do not come with the matching wheel and tire as the spare?

It is called "full size" (which is an option with off-road or towing package, default spare is probably donut like), outside diameter is the same as regular tire but inside is not - inside diameter for the spare is larger, so spare tire is thinner but width is probably about the same. Also the wheel is different (steel instead of aluminum).

And in case if you were wondering - true full size wheel/tire combo doesn't fit in spare wheel well. Someone here or on another Jeep forum tried.
