tip on WK2 pinch weld adapter for floor jacks

I just wanted to mention this product, not affiliated with the owner but it solved a problem for me. This adapter worked great to lift the front end of my WK2 at the factory jack point. Simply drop the adapter into your floor jack, line it up, and lift away. I don't have any pics from my use but here is a pic from his ebay page;

What's wrong with just using the one that is in the trunk in the spare tire storage?

Thats what I do, I just throw it on the jack pad and away I go.

Isn't that thing just made of plastic?

Yup and it works perfectly.

Even if you are worried about it breaking then take a grinder to a hockey puck for $2 and save yourself $17 from ordering this piece of beam with a notch in it.

hm I'll have to try it that and taking a grinder to a hockey puck sounds like a pretty good idea

I fixed the link in my original post.

There are other solutions you can build yourself, such as a hockey puck. It was much easier for me to just ordered something already built and tested.

I do believe the plastic piece on the top of jack has been eliminated in more recent builds (I don't have one). I've also seen this plastic piece break resulting in damage to the vehicle.

I thought $18 was a fair price for the convenience and function. It's certainly not the only option, I was more just posting to state that it works with the WK2.

Hey to each his own.

I have had fears of the plastic breaking that is why I am going to mold it and make a new one out of hard rubber (like hockey puck material).

It is a nice tool because it not only fits the pinch weld but in the back jacking spot there is a square notch that the tool fits in.

Yes it is!

I ordered another one and filled it in w/epoxy resin to use with my floor jack. :thumbsup:

It's rock solid, won't break or collaspe, and works great. I like the idea of having a plastic piece that contacts the lifting point, on and around the pinch weld, so marring, paint gouging, and eventual rusting are prevented!

Thanks for the post - for $18, it beats any of the homemade options I was considering. After spending close to 40K for the vehicle, $18 does not seem that extravagant.

Really? It is a piece of pipe cut with a grinder??? The cut isn't even straight! I might make some and sell them on ebay then. I will only charge $15.... Anyone interested??? Lol
