I thought the 2012 GC's had daytime running lights?

I was told today that my GC that I purchased from the U.S needs to have daytime running lights installed before it can be approved for the road. I thought that the GC's already had day time running lights installed for U.S models?

Any ideas or best ways to install it?

Thanks!
Matt

Sounds like you have a Laredo. I believe DRL's only come on Limited and up models.

Yes, BobsWK2 is correct...

According to the Jeep website models break-down, 'Dedicated Daytime Running Headlamps' start on Limited models & up.

Hope this helps

Is this a US thing as a just brought a 2012 Laredo and it had running lights already fitted and if I dont want them on all the time the owners manual shows you how to disable them.

Thanks for the replies. I wonder if Chrysler can flash the ECM to have the daytime running lights activated?

Not sure why US has not adopted this as law. We have had them in Canada since early 1990's, and improve visiblity greatly in the glare. These modules only add $20 to the vehicle. When traveling in the US, I need to re-teach the brain.

If you look at un-manipulated data, there is no evidence DRLs improve safety, but they do keep a few bulb works employed. So it depends on who has the most political strength in a particular country, the folks that don't want government intrusion or those that profit from making or selling bulbs.

Yes they can just take it to the dealership, from what I gather this has been done at no charge for other members. There are a couple threads about this. Cheers

GM thought it would be adapted too, and has had DRLs since the 90s.
