5% who's got it

Seriously debating throwing 5% up on the windows. Who's got it, what are your opinion of day/night driving. How long to get used to it? Also any pics

Re: 5% who's got it

I have 5% on the front two, 20% over the 20% on the back (makes 5% ish) and 40% on the windshield.

with only 20% over the backs, it's really not too bad back there. The front two are dark. I can't even pretend there. I roll my windows down to parallel park, rain, snow, typhoon, have to do it.

I sometimes even have to crack them to make a turn in low light situations, just to be sure. Honestly, I got used to it. I LOVE how dark it is inside, like my little cave.

The 40% on the windshield is hardly even noticeable. The only thing i notice is reduced glare from oncoming cars and the sunset. People will tell you it's dangerous, then in the same breath, tell you they've never driven a car with WS tint......

I will say, however, that I have very good vision, no glasses or contacts. If you're worried, then dont run them. They are definitely a lifestyle choice. ha!

Re: 5% who's got it

i have 5% on my front 2 and 5% over the rest of the stock 18%. At day it's no problem driving but its at night when the fun begins.Im used to it but there are times i also have to crack the window just to make sure. What worries me the most is switchin lanes at night and there's a car without its headlights on next to ya. Parking can also be a bit of a challenge without a rear cam. At night you cant see anything out the back. Some of my buds told me its a bit "uncomfortable" in the back at night cause it's really dark.

Re: 5% who's got it

i currently run 20% front 35% full windshield. But during the day it is just way to light. 5% is nice and dark but with everyone saying they love it during the day but questionable at night just worries me if its worth the trouble.

Re: 5% who's got it

if my math is right 5% over 18% would equal out to be 0.9%
and 20% over 18% would be 3.6%

both very dark

Re: 5% who's got it

the 20% over the stock glass is not that dark from the inside. Tint film is very different from factory dye.

Get the 5%, you'll love it.

Re: 5% who's got it

We get some serious heat in Louisiana so i got the jeep tinted twice.. lol

The fronts are 5%... the rear sides are 20% over factory thats designed to reflect heat and add UV protection but doesn't block a lot of light through, then they added 5% to get it dark. The back hatch sides are factory plus two layers of 5% same with the lift gate glass..

yes its ridiculous, and yes its hard to see that's why my jeep is in the body shop as i type this haha

I'm used to it now... but an upgrade for better reverse lights and a rear camera is in my immediate future

I have the slim ballast 6K HID bulbs in my reverse housings. They are headlights that point backwards! I LOVE THEM. They make it so easy to back up with tint!

I bought my set of a member SRTilla. Slim ballasts with a wiring harness to plug into the reverse connectors. ppl complain about he time it takes to heat up but after 2(?) secs it's brighter than any led lights imo
