Need advice with a check engine

Here's the story, I bought a certified preowned grand Cherokee about a month ago. It's an 11. First day I had it check engine light came on within the first 20 or so miles. When this happened traction control off light also came on and I had no control over turning traction back on, pushing the button did nothing. I scanned it.myself and it came back as cam position sensor. Next morning just the CEL was on, Trac was off. Half way through the day the CEL went off. Took it to the dealer anyway. They scanned it, confirmed the code and said to keep and eye on it. It's been fine for a month. This evening I started it and it happened again. Except this time the motor made a noise too, it could have also the first time and I just never notified. Anyway, it sounded as if it were starved for oil the first few seconds of start up. It's going to.the dealer in the morning but what do you guys think. I haven't scanned it yet this time but I'm a little pissed to say the least.

Sounds like a bad cam phaser.

Yep, cam phaser. My daughter's pentaster had the same symptoms, dealer is waiting for parts.

Heading to the dealer now! Why would traction control also switch off when this happens?
