GC 5.7 Hemi 2012 Jerking
Hi All,
got my new GC 5.4. from the beginning it was jerking in the bandwigth of
1400 to 2000 rpm. feels like miss-fire or uncontrolled fuel-injection.
I drove now approx. 4000 km, the Jeep was checked twice at 2 Jeep workshops. 1st. comment was...we cannot find anything...frustration as I can feel it permanent.
2nd. made (I hope) several success.
I am realy unhappy about it, as it is my first Jeep and I expected a much better performance and smoothness.
probably I find some in the Forum who got some information.
thanks for your valued comments.
BTW I life in Dubai.

Mine also does the same surging type feeling. Just rolled 1000 miles. Interested in responses as well.

It is the Hemi's MDS at work, doing its job of shutting down cylinders.

The computer turns it on & off based on the RPM's & gearing to save fuel.

What kind of fuel are you using?

Re: GC 5.7 Hemi 2012 Jerking
I don't think it's MDS. My MDS is smooth as butter.

I am using midgrade. It's not the displacement on demand. Its in normal mode and surges when cruising up a little grade. Trans also disengauges hard when putting into neutral from drive.

Search for "hemi shudder" on this forum. Well known issue (not saying that this is what you experience).

Re: GC 5.7 Hemi 2012 Jerking
Hi All,
a brief up-date what happened until now.
the GC was at the workshop now 3 improvement.
they told me, yes we did an up-date... but nothing changed.
last week it was there for 2 days.... feed-back from them... it might be a tyre or a reem...they made a report, which they will send to Kumho...
what is this?????? if they think its the tyre, why they dont change it and see what happens? if it is a reem, why they dont change the full set, just for testing... I am realy upset how they handle this kind of issues.
I am using mid-range fuel, which is recommanded.
I think it has something to do with the transmission.
if we could find more Friends arround here having the same issue, we should approach Chrysler-Jeep. I do understand that sometimes technical issues are there, its a question, how Jeep interacts with the customers.
they should not try to find fancy and stupid excuses....they should confirm the problem and inform us what they intent to do.
hope we can collect more informations here in the forum.
cheers from Dubai

Re: GC 5.7 Hemi 2012 Jerking
Hi Friends, its me again....I honnestly miss a bit more punch at my GC, I expected more power in lower rpm. above 4.500 it runs well.
any ideas how we can wake up our loved ones???
I heared a lot about:
eletronic throttle modification
Air Intake and Filter (K&N etc)
or special adjustments and modifications (Diablo )

do anybody have some experience with it?

Re: GC 5.7 Hemi 2012 Jerking
Send the engine and transmission computers off to a specialty shop to be reprogrammed, although I don't hear much about this for cars primarily used everyday on the street.
