tint help

I want to get the front windows tinted to match the rest. Are the factory tints 20%?

Your question would have been answered already if you did a search ;-) That topic has been answered many times and with pictures as well. To answer the question though, yes 20% window film is the best match to oem window tint. I have 20% llumar film and it is a dead match to the oem rear windows.

^what he said but I'll add 20% all around on max steel looks perfect!

Have you had any issues with the police with your windows being tinted?

I know that Illinois now allow tinted windows, but I have friends get tickets in the village of Bloomingdale, Carol stream, and Aurora.

35% or lighter film is now legal in IL. Not sure why they are getting tickets unless its darker than 35% and the cops felt like being dicks. I have never been hassled for my tint in any car I have owned. I live down in Plainfield, IL and work in Aurora and do not get hassled. I have 20% on my front windows.
20% tint and no front plate...never hassled

It can vary by brand. I'm running 15% tint up front and it matches well.

I feel like 15% film on the front windows would result in your fronts being darker than the factory tint on all the back windows. Do you have any pics?

I have 15% all around (15% over stock tint in rear) and love it. Keeps the Jeep a lot cooler and nobody can see my video monitors. Look at the link in my sig for pictures.

Any issues driving at night with 20% tints on the fronts?

It's a little on the dark side mainly in not so well lit areas, but overall I have never run into a safety issue because of te tint at night. Any less than 20 and things get very difficult to see out of at night.
