Mirror Painting
Hey guys, quick question / looking for opinions.

I am about to have my WK side mirrors painted, and was wondering if I should have the entire mirror assembly painted? I've seen the covers painted and have seen the SRT mirrors - neither seem to have the whole thing painted.

Has anyone here painted the entire mirror including the "triangle" that attaches to the door?

My Jeep is brilliant black btw.

Any thoughts or pics?

... if I should have the entire mirror assembly painted?...

I think you should leave the reflective part... welllll.. reflective. JMO of course ;-)

Re: Mirror Painting
thanks, perhaps you misunderstood what I was "attempting" to describe.

The plastic housing assembly will be painted, not the mirror.

I'd probably just paint the top cover. Mine are chrome and would like to find a black chrome option.

Re: Mirror Painting
paint everything, it will look MUCH better. Once that plastic starts to fade it will look like crap.

Re: Mirror Painting
Not mine but as you can see, the whole area is painted, and not just the mirror. This is QBNKID's srt btw.

Re: Mirror Painting
Thanks for the replies.

I think I'm leaning toward painting the whole thing - that white jeep does look good.

Re: Mirror Painting
I want to do the whole assembly when I do mine. Here's a link to a person who knows a lot about these things,

Re: Mirror Painting
I am going to paint the mirrors and not go with covers. There are pros and cons for each method. One of the downsides of painting my mirrors is that the texture needed to be sanded out first.

You can buy 2008+ mirrors that are factory paint matched - no texture to sand out. (unless you decide to paint the entire assembly)
