Air sound out exhaust tips

Just had a shop take out the big "Suitcase" muffler out and put in Borla mufflers in the rear. "reused the stock tips" Happy with the sound and look except at idle when the RPM's drop. Standing at the rear it sounds like air putt-putting mixed in with a little rumble. Like the MDS engages and is only moving air. WEIRD! Anybody else experience this? Maybe a CAI might help? 2012 Altitude 5.7 Hemi. BTW fist post and thanks for all the info I have gathered from the forum thus far and any help here. Still waiting on a tuner.

Does your current set up have anyway for both cylinder banks to mix such as an "X" pipe or "H" pipe?

The suit case let both banks mix to help balance the sound.

Also at the slowest idle speed it can become a little rough.

Both Borla and Magna flow mufflers need exhaust gas velocity to cancel out certain frequencies. This is why at certain RPMs the exhaust is not that loud and accepetable, but let the RPMs drop and you get drone.

The drone is caused because the exhaust flow is not travelling at the velocity that the muffler was designed to cancel out unwanted soundwaves.
