2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee automatic light sensor problems

So yesterday I got an oil change at a Mobil 1 station.

Then later that night, I went back out. As I was pulling out of my garage, I noticed something was wrong. The lights weren't on. No headlights, no interior lights.

I had to manually turn from automatic to "on".

I shifted it back and forth several times. Put back in park, turned off car, back on, shifted the dial again, no go. Tried this a few more times throughout the night and the drive. No change.

Any suggestions for me to fix this easily at home vs going to the dealer (long drive, long wait)? The timing of the oil change seems like it wouldn't be related, yet for the sensor to stop working the same day seems like it is in fact related. I am thinking maybe a fuse or something? Where to look?

I also want to mention that I specifically asked the Mobil 1 place to reset the oil change computer thing. They knew what I was talking about and said their print out had the instructions. When I started the car for the first time after the oil change (in their parking lot), the engine reved to 3k rpm or so for a moment, almost like I was sitting on the accelerator. I thought "hmm, that is weird" but then just figured it maybe had something to do with the reset.

I mention it now just because again the timing seems suspicious. There were no errors on the dash or any other problems that I've found.

The car is about six months old. I had 2400 miles on it, and wanted to get rid of the factory oil. That is why I did an oil change at 2400 miles, more for age and factory oil, to give me peace of mind. (had them put in Mobil 1, like I always do). The shop has always been excellent to me, no reason for me to question their abilities.

Now I am wondering wtf I've done...

Mine automatic light sensor also malfunctioned. Sometimes it would work, but other times it would not. I took it to the dealer when it wasn't working and they confirmed a contact wasn't closing, and ordered a replacement, which took a few weeks to arrive. So far, no problems after replacement. I think there are a few electrical issues with the Jeep, since the outlet in the center stack also went out. They took it apart and found a crimp in the wiring and fixed that too. In short, I would try the dealer as much as it may be inconvenient for you.

To make things more interesting - I changed absolutely nothing, and now they are working again...

And again not working. So, I guess I have to go to the dealer... :(
