2007 3.0l crd

Just joined have 3.0l crd lost all power electronic throttle light , paid 80 bucks to have dealership tell me it was the $900.00 egr valve which I had taken out and cleaned although it really wasn't dirty at all.Like an idiot I bought the new valve figuring well maybe the old one was burnt out. Changed valve no result only way its driveable is by unplugging egr.Took out swirl motor linkage moves freely.Left linkage unhooked ,wired loose linkage wide open. Now vehicle seems to have a little more turbo lag @ take off but all the power I want at higher rpms. I want to know where I can get a swirl motor other than the stealership or if I am better of deleting and by-passing egr and swirl motor. Gutted the catalytic and dpf at the same time I unhooked swirl motor. I am not worried about emissions

There is a swirl motor advertised on ebay for 140.

I would leave egr and swirl motor bypassed. You could leave the egr and swirl motor connectors off and put in a 4.7K resistor in the center two pins and this will not cause any real issues except an egr flow DTC. How are you running this with the dpf and cats punched out and not going into limp mode without the proper tuning? I have the resistor on my swirl motor and works great, but I have my tuning to delete the egr. I have Custom Spooling tune to delete the dpf and egr. Works great, awesome power and 2.5 mpg improved economy during city driving.

put resistor in swirl motor plug, no more limp mode,a little tubo lag off the line, wish I would have went with my instinct and left $900.00 egr at the stealership should have spent money on tuner. looking into a tune thank you tnanzdig . actual resistor cost was less than a postage stamp.getting a tuner to make sure exhaust goes out exhaust like it is supposed to giving donation to website for saving me the expense of buying and obviously unneeded swirl motor. will also do elephant hose mod to keep even more garbage from going into the engine

THANKS bjzack.
I Just bought 2007 Jeep GC CRD with 140.000 kilometers on it.
The first think I did was Elephant Tube Modification - wenting it in the air under truck. Since oil in the air intake is not issue anymore I am not replacing orange seal.
It took me 10 minutes to install 4.7 K ohm resistor in the Swirl Motor plug.
I can honestly say that there is no difference in performance.
Now I have to find someone in Lover Mainland (BC) to have DPF/EGR delete job done.

Re: 2007 3.0l crd

Hello, wondering if I really went down wrong path. Swirl motor failure, replaced but now the shop says linkage is not available. Does anyone know where I can buy the linkage sockets (sqr PCs that fit into motor levers, as well one of the plastic levers on the valve seems pretty loose. It's a 2008 overland wk with CRD 135000 km at a Repair shop and they said these parts were no longer available from Chrysler, Mercedes won't sell part. I didn't trust just going with resistor because I thought I would lose some low rpm response. I really wanted to get back to factory set up and then look at performance mod if need be. Right now I just don't know where to turn to get my only toy back up and running other than locking down the swirl valves, just very uncomfortable bastardizing a German engineered engine. Any help on who still sells swirl linkage parts would be appreciated.
