2005 WK CEL & ESP/Service Electrical Brake System

I have a 2005 WK 4.7l. When I accelerate going up a hill, or need some passing power, and the transmission shifts down 2 gears, it will get stuck in that gear. After a few seconds stuck in that gear, the Service Electrical Brake System will come on with an ESP light also. Sometime the CEL will will also come on. I can get the Jeep to shift again, but I have to get the RPM's up to around 4200 or so. Then the Jeep seems to shift again normally. After pulling the codes, I get CEL code of P0068(Throttle Position Sensor Inconsistent with the Mass Air Flow Sensor) and code U0401(Engine signal malfunction detected). We have replaced the TPS and MAP Sensor. I am at a loss here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

according to service information the most likely cause is a large vacuum leak for your p0068 dtc.

the u0401 can be a side effect of an engine dtc... so I would check on the p0068 first.

How can I test for vac leaks? I have a vac gauge, but don't know what pressure it should read. Any more help is appreciated.
