Alignment Cam Kit

Has anybody else taken their car in for an alignment & be told it needed an alignment camber kit installed?? I had an independent garage quote me $1,000 for this. My dealer quoted $350 - the service rep knew nothing about it & had to check with his techs. I had it done by Big O Tires for $35. I have never needed this done on any other car I have owned. Why does Jeep do this??!!

Its basically a bolt that is in a washer, which the hole is off center so it spins in an oblong pattern (think football rolling on end) You use these at the bottom where the strut meets the knuckle (depending on style) some use it at the control arm bolts to the unibody, and others use it at the strut tower and move the strut in and out.

They work fine some people hate them, some manufacturers dont want them used, hell most chrysler stuff needs them out of the factory :)
