Hardly any oil from dealership

I was driving by a wall a noticed a lot of ticking noise coming from my Hemi, and decided to put it in neutral and rev it a tad only to hear an engine that sounded like it was falling apart!

Fast forward to getting home: I open the hood and pull the dip stick and its barely got a reading it was so dry! Ended up having to put 3 qts for it to finally read full!

Now it seems the car isn't struggling or giving me a grinding feel as I have it climb above 3k rpms.

Obviously this car was built on a sunday or monday because the assembly workers were either hung over or looking for the closing bell to ring and forgot to add sufficient oil!
- In addition the selling dealership should have completed a PDI (pre-delivery inspection) prior to retailing the vehicle.

Im not a happy camper, imagine had I driving this thing 5k miles before being serviced! ... I only have 586 miles on it as of now!

Don't blame the assembly line, blame the dealer for the lack of a QC.

Of course hindsight is always 20/20, but I almost wonder if it would've been a better idea to get a tow to the nearest dealer once you heard that noise (or saw the oil level being so low) so they had proof that there was an insufficient amount of oil in there.

Hopefully no permanent damage was done.

Make sure that you check the oil on a level surface. With the hemi if its on even a slight angle it will show little or none on the dipstick. If you overfill the crankcase you can cause foaming. The hemi has always had a tick noise. Its known as the famous hemi-tic.
