New 20" tires??

For those that have replaced the GY Forteras with the orig size, what are you going with? The selection is so limited.

I am sitting at 18k miles on my overland and I have had nothing but vibration issues since day one and of late have gotten really bad and annoying. Two different dealers weren't willing to do anything other then rebalance (which provided minimal improvement). I have gone to my local tire shop a few times the last 3mos and they said the tires are probably junk but weren't able to prorate them for a new set as GY is tough to deal with especially given the miles on them. It's ridiculous to have to deal with such poor tires on this type of vehicle.

I have decided to either prematurely ditch the Forteras or drop down to the 18" polished wheels and new tires as there is a much larger selection and the additional rubber would be nice.

I would like to go with a more aggresive tire, but I do way too much Hwy driving.

Thoughts?

What are you planning to get out of the tire? Off-road? Snow? Strictly highway?

being in michigan, definitely needs to be a solid all season tire but I do a lot of hwy driving.

Check discounttiredirect. Should be a few decent choices. I do recall seeing terra grapplers in the oem size and most seem to like the tire for all season and highway. Also makes your ride look much more like it should.

I'm considering those but many reviews state they wear very quickly. I wish they had the Michelin ltx m/s in the 265/50/20. There's very little to choose fromin this size.

Look at 285/50/20 and 275/55/20 also. They are larger but give you some additional options. I went with 285/50's so I could get the wider footprint.

Thanks. DO you have any pics? Did you notice much of a drop with mpg?

I hope you mean LTX M/S. The A/S are not good. M/S are excellent, but very pricy).

I'm probably going to go with the Terra Grapplers. I have no desire to have my speedometer be off due to the tire size changing.
