What makes an Overland so heavy?

Hey guys,
Out of curiosity, what makes an Overland WJ over 1,000 pounds heavier than a limited 4x4 with a 4.7 HO? I can't imagine rock rails and front seats add up to that!

20" tires weigh a bunch. Additional insulation. Larger engine, Trailer hitch, additional audio amp, more speakers, floor mats, heavier leather, air suspension, etc.

Just look at the additional included items. They all add up too.

Uncle Paul; the WJ didn't have as much of a difference between the two, you're looking at the WK2.

Good point actually! 1000lb is insane for the little difference in them.

The three skid plates and rock rails will add a chunk of that. Badges, real wood grain, rain sense controller and the different materials on the seats are the only real differences.

Wheels are still 17"s so no real difference there.

Huh? Limited 4WD (4.7 H.O.)= 4206#. Overland 4WD (4.7 H.O.)=4364#. My math says 158#:D

Cheapjeep, you're absolutely right, I added an extra zero by mistake, although I'm still kinda confused, unless those rock rails are about 50 pounds a piece, I guess I'll find out soon enough!
